Daily Bread – Dec 13,2012 – Train Up The Children

DBThursdayPraise Jesus for another day. Greetings to all. Bless the Lord because He comforts an listens to us. But if we regard iniquity in our hearts, He will not hear us (Psalm 66:18). So we must confess our sins so that He will forgives (1 John 1:9) and speak to Him honestly and wholeheartedly because we cannot hide anything from God (Psalm 139:12, Job 34:21&22). Today’s scripture is from Proverbs:

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

Why should a child be taught the Word from young? It’s because Satan likes to shape people’s moral character from young. The younger you are the better for him. Why? Look at trees for instance. A sprout is easier to bend and manipulate because it’s more flexible; opposed to a fully grown tree which already has it’s bark. Once you bend a tree when it’s young and cause it to grow crooked, it’s much more difficult to straighten it out and cause it to be upright after it has fully grown. This is why the younger generation is so heavily targeted. For this cause must a child be rooted in the Word of God (Jesus) from young.
