Hello all. Let us thank the Lord Jesus for His goodness towards us. Even though if things aren’t going well for many of us, we should wait on the Lord. All things that the Lord do are perfect and complete. The Lord fills in all the holes of the “things that could possibly go wrong”. He is excellently efficient in all His doings. When He comes through for us, He not only gives us what we need, but He gives us a bountiful surplus as well. Who is like God? We should always be willing to bless the Lord and tell people about His goodness; especially in the rough times because no matter what predicament we’re in, Jesus is going through the storm with us (Mark 4:40) and He’ll definitely see us through if we trust in Him. Today’s scripture is from Proverbs:
Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured.Proverbs 27:18
What does waiting on the Lord mean? Does it mean that we just sit around patiently and do nothing? No. To patiently wait on the Lord means to do the opposite of nothing. We should be actively doing the Lord’s work by preaching, teaching, showing and living the Gospel. The reason why we don’t drink, smoke, indulge in revelries and be affiliate ourselves in other worldly pleasures is because we are waiting on our Master so we can have true joy. Some became impatient and said to themselves, “the Lord is taking to long to return, I should just enjoy life and turn back to him when I get old.” Let us not be foolish and fall asleep beloved, because no one knows when he or she will die and we should serve the Lord until we die. Let us also not forget what the Spirit said through the apostle James, “But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” James 1:4. Patience produces perfection, so we should wait patiently on the Lord by keep His commandments and the hope of His promises(Romans 8:24-25), that we may be rewarded and honoured when He returns(Revelation 22:12).
