Hi everyone. Praise Jesus for life and His abundance of mercy because they are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). If it wasn’t for the Lord, we would’ve been consumed by all of the storms in our lives. But it’s because of His mercies that the storms are rebuked at His command (Mark 4:39). We must remember that each time a storm arises in our lives, Jesus is going through it with us. All we have to call upon Him and trust in Him and He will say to the storm, “Peace be still”. Today’s scripture is from Jeremiah:
O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel. Jeremiah 18:6
Notice in this verse that the Lord compares the house of Israel, which is the children of Israel, His people (Acts 7:37-38), to potters clay. This is very interesting because clay must be pure in order to be molded and baked without cracking. It cannot be mixed with metals such as iron because they don’t cleave to one another as water and oil. So in order for us to be shaped in the way the Lord want’s to be, we must be separate from the world; because as water and oil doesn’t mix, so doesn’t Christianity and worldliness.
